Hormone Review

3rd, August 2010

The hospital nurse is also involved in reviewing my hormone regime between appointments with the endocrinologist.  The results of a recent blood test showed I had an increased liver function.  So I have to wait another 6 weeks and have a retest.  Only then will a decision be made as to weather I can have an increased dose of Sandrena (Gel Oestrogen).  My Oestrogen levels remain very low and it is frustrating me as it has now been several years and I am no nearer to getting ideal levels in my blood stream.

I am able to increase my Finasteride to 5mg immediately.  That should help a little with reducing the rate that my beard regrows.  In addition I have a letter asking my GP to prescribe Vaniqa.

The letter also asks my GP to examine the possible causes of my weight gain and bloating.

Restart

13th, July 2010

Now that the stresses of the day are out of the way, it is time to have a nice dose of oestrogen.  I am to start using it again at the 3mg dose until I receive news of any changes from the nurse.

Implant

7th, July 2010

This morning I had to visit my GP for my Zoladex Implant.  Hopefully this will be the last one as I am due Gender Reassignment Surgery and will no longer require the testosterone blocking treatment.

I said to the GP that the next time he sees me I will be a changed person.  His response was that I already was.  Aww.

Six Week Countdown

3rd, July 2010

I have to come off the Estradiol today in preparation for my Gender Reassignment Surgery (GRS).  Hopefully I will not suffer too many side effects or mood swings, as the hormone level in my blood has never reached the target levels yet!

I have been on Sandrena 3.0 mg Gel Estradiol for several months now.  I recently had a blood test in order to check the levels in my blood.  Next week to review my dosage which I anticipate will be increased.  Unfortunately I will not be able to start the increased dosage until after the GRS.
