15th, October 2011

Came off estrogen gel today and went onto (HRT) patches! Quite why I need do this before going onto implants is beyond me, specially as they are at a lower does than the estrogen gel!

Sadly as I suspected the patches are refusing to stay stuck to me! I always have this trouble with patch based treatments!! :O(

All Working

At last dilation is getting easier. Still uncomfortable but it is definitely getting easier. I was still granulating a little a few days ago, but the steroid seems to be settling it down.

I was told to make dilating easier I should warm the dilator and also use two fingers to open the entrance before inserting the dilator. Both of these have helped! I wish I had been given this advice when I left hospital, it may have saved a lot of pain!

Taking of pain, I must add that making sure the nails are kept short is a goo idea. I just drew blood!! An internal injury is not what I need right now.

I have also noted today that things are working correctly and I have even started self lubricating I think! :)

Fresh Air

After months of being stuck indoors I ventured into the park with  ”S” ! We waited till well after lunch time and i put on some factor 15 sun block and put on a pink floppy hat as the last thing I need right now is a sunstroke and I am quite prone to it.  We sat for about an hour I guess, but it was great to be out.  Since October I have only been out a half a dozen times and that has been to see the doctor, attend a hospital appointment or to get some items from the local shops.

Pictures Here

I have been suffering a sore throat for a few days now and am tired probably due to that strange stuff called fresh air! :)

Warm Welcome

New neighbours moved into a flat on the floor below us today.  They were quickly introduced to life in this block of flats.  Someone set light to some wooden fencing that protects a pedestrian access to the under flats car park.  Chained to it were a couple of push bikes, which explained where the smell of burning rubber was coming from.

It is the 4th or 5th time a fire has been set in the car park since we moved in here just over a year ago!

Breathless

I had a doctors appointment to attend this morning.  The appointment was made to see why I am so sore and also to discuss the nailsel spary that was issued at my last visit.  The spray gave me headaches so I had stopped using it.  The GP said I should continue to use it and that there was no reason for it to give me headaches!  Funny because it does state that as a possible side effect.  Doctor did not seen to like being told that!

The hospital seem to think I may have COPD.  The GP says no.  The nurse dealing with my gender surgery thinks they should be putting me on tread mills and moitoring me.  The GP says it is sinus inflamation which must be brought down using the prescribed naisal spray!!

Back from Charing Cross.. The nurse says I have both internal and external granulation still !! I am to go back on steroid creams to try and stop it or slow it down. Also need a anaesethic appplied to help me dilate !! Need a barrier cream to help stop the soreness and if not any better in a few weeks I should postpone the next operation!!!

Oh and I have to wait till after the postponed operation to start looking at getting my hormone levels right!! It’s been 4 years or more in there hands and never been anywhere near the desired levels! Seriously thinking I’ll go back to self prescription from off shore chemists!

Hormone Review

3rd, August 2010

The hospital nurse is also involved in reviewing my hormone regime between appointments with the endocrinologist.  The results of a recent blood test showed I had an increased liver function.  So I have to wait another 6 weeks and have a retest.  Only then will a decision be made as to weather I can have an increased dose of Sandrena (Gel Oestrogen).  My Oestrogen levels remain very low and it is frustrating me as it has now been several years and I am no nearer to getting ideal levels in my blood stream.

I am able to increase my Finasteride to 5mg immediately.  That should help a little with reducing the rate that my beard regrows.  In addition I have a letter asking my GP to prescribe Vaniqa.

The letter also asks my GP to examine the possible causes of my weight gain and bloating.

Diet Update

3rd, August 2010

Sticking to the diet has been extremely difficult.  My meals have not always been before the 8pm curfew and although I have managed to stick to walking part of the way to and from work, I have never found the time or place on my days off to fit in the one hour of dancing three times a week!

So when the hospital nurse wanted to check my waist measurement and weight I was a little worried.  I need not have been though as I have lost 2 inches from my waist measurement and I have lost 2kg in weight.

I explained that I have not been able to find the time to do the home exercise.  The nurse was happy with the rate of my weight loss and advised I simply stick to what I have been doing! :O)

Electrolysis Appointment

3rd, August 2010
Comments Off

I had an appointment for electrolysis today. I have been suffering  from a heavy cold and very nearly pulled out of going. However any delay in this treatment could force me to put back my GRS for a third time, so I forced myself to go.

The session went well as I was doped up with pain killers and had plenty of emla applied to the treatment area.

Sitting in the waiting room I did as I normally do and chatted to another girl also waiting for electrolysis.

Absorbed in conversation I hardly noticed another girl come into the waiting room. After a few moments she said “It’s Broxie! Isn’t it?” The voice was almost familiar, I looked over to see a young and very feminine face. I still could not place the name until she told me it who she was. Then it all fitted she had changed a little from my minds picture of her, but she is still as pretty and feminine as I remember from the days when I was not living full time in my gender role. That must have been 4 years or more ago!

Unfortunately she had found out yesterday that her gender reassignment operation the was scheduled a week before mine, will need to be postponed in order to have some other essential surgery done.

She is one of the most naturally feminine trans girls I have ever met, so I was surprised to learn that she intends to have some facial feminising surgery. I really hope it all goes well for her.

Update

30th, July 2010

My name changed again since I last updated this profile. This was due to my marriage to Suzanne on Halloween 2009! :O)  I am now Mrs Broxie Bessent-Rothwell.

The wedding only just went through as we only had 15 minutes to left to publish the wedding notices; we sat in the registry office awaiting the verdict from the Gender Recognition Panel.

The news was received by telephone that I was officially now female so Bishop’s Stortford Registry Office had its first Trans wedding (Civil Ceremony).

In November 2009 I postponed my Gender Reassignment Surgery in order to have some Genital Electrolysis they funded at the last minute.  I was fortunate to meet the girl that received my cancellation. That helped soften my disappointment.

I recently postponed the GRS for a second time as the electrolysis needs to continue for a little longer.

I now have a new GRS date set for 26th October 2010.

Earlier this year I had voice pitch surgery.

There are now two versions of the surgery Advanced and Basic.

I should have received the advanced surgery but was given the Basic.  At the same time I had my Adams Apple reduced, but I have a very large voice box so it has not actually made a great deal of difference to my look.

The scar is still red but, the cut is very straight and is in a place that my ageing skin would naturally crease anyway.

The treatment was done on the same wing that I will have my GRS later this year and my treatment there was terrible, which does not inspire me with confidence.  I can’t afford to go private so I will just have to hope for a better experience next time.

Just before Christmas 2009 we were offered a council flat in Hertford.  We hated the place but for a number of reasons were not in a position to turn it down.

I had to quit smoking AGAIN!   This time I gave up on Christmas Eve and have not faltered since.  Annoyingly I am still reliant on Nicotine Mints though.

I have bloated out massively in the last 3 years.  I think it is at least in part due to the effect of giving up smoking.  Also I have been suffering from water retention and that may be side effect of the oestrogen. I was taken off oral Oestrogen as not enough was showing present in the blood stream.

I am currently on Sandrena Gel  instead.  As per normal they start you on a low dosage and gradually increase it.  So I am now awaiting conformation that I may increase my dose to 4mg a day.
